New missionary orientation

Forty-six missionaries are currently attending LCMS World Mission’s annual orientation at Concordia University, St. Paul, Minn. These missionaries will work in 17 different countries around the world, such as Panama, Thailand, India, Uganda, and the Czech Republic. Lift up these missionaries in prayer as they prepare to serve the Lord in other countries. I am so very proud of you all. My Lord must truly be honored in your determination and dedication to His call.
Thanks, Rudy, for giving us a glimpse of what must be an extrememly exciting time in the Lord’s work plan.
Concuring with Ron Meyer, it is so very exciting since I would imagine that many of the missionaries are short term and this is their first time doing this kind of work.
I especially am remembering Kim Sherwin who was a faithful member of our campus ministry here in Stevens Point for the past four years. The Lord led her to hear the call for overseas service.
But let each of us remember that we all have a personal mission at our very doorstep. Be alert to God’s call in your neighborhood.
I had the honor of meeting many of the young servants of the Lord last night. Ben & Amy, Bryn,
Ashley, Erin, Tony, Christel, Debbie, and others whose names I just don’t remember. I thank God for these young people who selflessly are going to the ends of the earth to imitate God’s love for all and to teach of the many blessings and gifts of Jesus Christ. All for God’s glory! Amen! I will keep you all in my prayers. Have a safe journey and God be with you all!
WOW! What an encouragement to see you all!! Go forward in the Lord: He is with you in HIS own commission to spread the Gospel and be His witnesses to the ENDS OF THE EARTH!
Thanks for the wonderful news and picture of this year’s “Missionary Orientation” event, as all missionaries – long-term and career – are being prepared for service in the overseas mission fields! This is great, and often “life-changing” experience which very often yields future career missionaries as well as future pastoral candidates for the Lord’s Great Mission Harvest worldwide! God’s blessings on all these new missionaries and those who helped orient them!
