From GEO missionary Terri Bartel in Poland

“From Jan. 24-31, I had the opportunity to co-lead an English Camp for children in the city of Wegrow (75 kilometers northeast of Warsaw). There are very few Lutherans in northern Poland; in fact, the church we helped has only 20 members, 10 of whom attended church the Sunday we were there. They also only have three children in their Sunday school, two of whom are the pastor’s sons. During these five days, however, the sound of laughter, singing, and high-pitched chatter filled the parish house as nine children gathered to learn about God’s love for them.
“Through the Bible stories of Daniel, Jonah, Bartimaeus, Samuel, and the early Christians, the children learned how God’s love has hands, feet, eyes, ears, and a mouth. In addition to the Bible stories, every day we discussed four new characteristics of the love mentioned in 1 Cor. 13:4-7. They memorized these verses in English and Polish, as well as learned three English songs and numerous American games, participated in arts and crafts, and enjoyed a daily tea and chocolate break which helped them stay warm in the cold weather.
“The most important thing, however, was that they heard about God’s love for them and they had fun learning, as evidenced by several of them showing up super early and staying late each day. Please pray that the Holy Spirit would continue to water the seed that He planted in their hearts.”
