Order free resources for 2012 Armed Forces Sunday celebrations

Armed Forces Sunday is scheduled for May 20, 2012. If your congregation chooses to celebrate Armed Forces Sunday on a day other than May 20, appropriate days could include a Sunday close to Memorial Day, Independence Day or Veterans Day.

These resources are free to your congregation for celebrating Armed Forces Ministry Sunday. Resources for 2012 include a suggested sermon, responsive prayer and a theme bulletin insert.

All congregations must place a new order to receive 2012 bulletin inserts. To receive the bulletin inserts, please fill out our simple order form by clicking here. Please place your order by Friday, Feb. 10. Placing your order today, for use now or later in the year, allows us to order all bulletin inserts at one time at a substantial cost savings. If you do not plan to use the bulletin insert until later in the year, just let us know in the comments box on the order form. Those orders will be shipped closer to the date you requested.

I saw that there are sermon helps for Armed Forces Day, but for the life of me I can’t find where to order it. I would like to observe this day in my congregation. I am a veteran myself. The only thing I can find is an order blank for free bulletins. Please help me!

    Hello Pastor Morris,
Thanks for your inquiry. There will indeed be a suggested sermon outline available for celebrating LCMS Ministry to the Armed Forces Sunday in May (this year, it falls on May 20). It should be posted on the LCMS website at http://www.lcms.org/armedforces by the end of March. You will be able to download it from there, along with other free resources to help your congregation celebrate.
I hope this information helps–please feel free to follow-up if you have any additional questions!
    Elizabeth
