Celebrating ordinations throughout French-speaking Africa
Wed, Aug 1, 2012
This update was shared by the Rev. Frederick Reinhardt (pictured above), who serves as an LCMS missionary in Africa. He is based in Nairobi, Kenya.
“The Lutheran Church of Togo ordained Vicaire Nangeyabe on March 24, 2012. He serves the parish of Mogou, Togo. This is following the ordination of five vicars in Nano, Togo, last year on Nov. 26! In the Forest Region of Guinea, West Africa, I think three men were ordained on April 21, 2012. I don’t believe I’ve mentioned it previously, but Vicar Guehiguehi Marc of the Lutheran Church in the Ivory Coast was ordained in November 2011 as well. And last but not least, six men will be ordained in the Lutheran Church in the Republic of Congo in the capital city, Brazzaville, on Sept. 16, 2012! I will make every effort to be present at that ceremony in Brazzaville. I’m just sorry I can’t always make it to each and every ordination ceremony!
“There could be other ordinations that I am not aware of – as in English-speaking Churches in Africa – but those 16 new pastors in French-speaking Africa are the ones that I am aware of in these past couple of years alone! Praise be to God. May He allow many more to be ordained for service to His Church in Africa!”

Hi Freddie! Wow! What a wonderful report you have provided! It must be very rewarding to see the progress the church is making in French Africa. You look great in the picture, and I think to myself that it looks like you are standing in the Great Smoky Mountains somewhere! Blessings, Judy
