Andy and Jamie Koenig are preparing to serve as GEO missionaries in Poland, where they will be building relationships with students and their families through teaching English as a Foreign Language and helping with other outreach activities in the Polish congregations where they serve.
The borrowed sanctuary is overflowing. Family and friends have swelled the ranks of the small Lutheran congregation in Seville to participate in the Sacrament of Baptism. The beautiful baby girl is dressed all in white for her special day, on which she will be baptized and accepted into the Lutheran church family in Spain like her two sisters before her.
GEO missionary Eric Richter shares, “As I was teaching a couple of weeks ago, one of my students asked if I would meet him and another classmate, Maros, for a soda that afternoon. I didn’t know what to expect or where our conversation would go, but I met up with Maros, Deny, and Ada.
“A few of us who lead the mothers’ group at our church decided to make care packages for moms who come to our group (about 10) and for those moms who we wanted to invite to come because they’re inactive or have not been to church since they baptized their little ones. This means that currently, there are four of us who are out and about, visiting about 40-plus other moms personally and delivering care packages!
I have to admit that I have rarely seen a congregation this alive. We had up to 75 attend on a given night and the range of ages was from senior citizen to high school students. Most studiously took notes and sang the beautiful Mongolian hymns heartily…
