There is a girl named Rita in my fourth grade class who is the last to leave after school every day. This is not because her parents are the last to come and pick her up. What many of my Guinean friends have seen is how God answers prayers prayed in Jesus’ name. His healing and mercy in their lives is revealing a loving God, with whom they are not very familiar. Even describing God as a loving Father isn’t something to which many people here can relate.

The borrowed sanctuary is overflowing. Family and friends have swelled the ranks of the small Lutheran congregation in Seville to participate in the Sacrament of Baptism.
