What many of my Guinean friends have seen is how God answers prayers prayed in Jesus' name. His healing and mercy in their lives is revealing a loving God, with whom they are not very familiar. Even describing God as a loving Father isn't something to which many people here can relate.
Listen to an audio interview with LCMS missionary Andrea Herman, who serves the Lord as an evangelistic trainer to women in Guinea. Andrea shares how the Holy Spirit is working in the hearts of the Maninka people in West Africa and other opportunities for outreach.
“God and His ways continue to amaze me. My friend Evie has often mentioned she’d like me to go with her to greet her family in another town, but I don’t often travel there. Another thing she and her husband both mention frequently is that I don’t lie; I do what I say I’m going [...]
“‘Now Thank We All Our God!’ Although Thanksgiving is now over we still rejoice in the many blessings God has given. Pastors David Punjugu and Daniel Diabaté are co-workers in the Gospel working in Bamako (the capital city of the country north of us) who came last week for the evangelism program that I asked [...]

Wisdom is supreme; therefore get wisdom. Though it costs all you have, get understanding.’ During our agricultural training trip to Guinea, Linda and [...]
“I have been staying in Narena, Mali, while the strikes continued in Mali. There is a young Norwegian couple on the other side of Narena, about a mile and a half away, who were asked to help a sick woman (the wife is a nurse). They went to visit the woman and her family and [...]
“A man came here to help us, we thought, with discipling some of our friends who were new in the faith. He was someone we’d considered a friend for six years, and who had claimed to be a Christian for 20 years. In reality, his only interest was in gaining money and status for himself. [...]

The Meyers teach ‘Management of the Harvest’ in Liberia, Sierra Leone, and Guinea as the first important step toward helping people to see causes for food shortages and to find their solutions. They always followed up with [...]
